Australian UFC star Jake Matthews has signed his fight agreement for UFC Auckland in BLOOD.
It was announced yesterday that the 25-year-old will take on Norwegian Emil Meek in New Zealand on February 23.
Rather than the traditional signature, Matthews opted for a bloody fingerprint instead.
He posted a picture of the bloodied contract on his Instagram page.
And it was joined by the caption: “@emilvalhalla I signed this one in blood @ufc Auckland will be war! #ufc #mma #australia”.
Matthews’ professional record in MMA reads 15-4-0.
And the man from Melbourne will be hoping to pick up his second consecutive win, having defeated Rostem Akman at UFC 243.
The fight was decided by a unanimous decision.
This win saw Matthews bounce back from his loss to Anthony Rocco Martin back in December 2018.
Meek, on the other hand, is 9-4-1 – having lost his last two fights.
The most recent of these defeats came at the hands of Bartosz Fabinski by a unanimous decision in Hamburg back in July 2018.
The card will be headlined by the lightweight clash between Paul Felder and Dan Hooker.
And it will also feature bouts between heavyweights Ben Sosoli and Marcos Rogerio de Lima, as well as light heavyweights Tyson Pedro and Vinicius Moreira.
