The last game of Tuesday’s night’s Jimmy V Classic doubleheader at Madison Square Garden features two teams in Connecticut and Indiana that have hung a good amount of banners and are looking to announce that they are back after falling on some tough times.
The Hoosiers have played seven out of their nine games Over the total while Connecticut has played just three of their eight to the Over.
UConn seems to be a chameleon of sorts, playing slowly against teams that take longer in terms of possession length such as Maine and Florida, but play faster (and exceeding 75 points) against Sacred Heart, St. Joseph’s, Buffalo and Iona.
Indiana entered Monday ranked 12th in the country in 2-point field-goal shooting percentage, which has led to this team scoring the fourth-most points per possession of any team in college basketball this season.
With UConn increasing its tempo — its games have featured an increase of more than three possessions per game over a season ago — it should lead to an exciting and high-scoring game to cap the night.
The play: Connecticut-Indiana, Over.
