Being a fan of Pakistan cricket is tough work. Pakistan are an exceptionally talented group of individuals who have not played as team for some time. Can Mickey Arthur turn the potential into results?
With Waqar Younis stepping down after the T20 World Cup, Arthur has emerged as the suprise choice by the PCB. The inital talk was of Australian coach Dean Jones or Tom Moody. The PCB have gone with Arthur who was famously sacked on the 2013 Ashes tour for Darren Lehnman.
Arthur is a coach of proven interntional pedigree with South Africa, helping them to their first series victory in Australia. In his first press conference he promised to bring tough to a Pakistan cricket side who currently sit at number three in the world rankings. Arthur faces a tough task for a side that is world class in the bowling department but light in fielding and batting. Arthur has promised to bring a strong but flexible approach to a Pakistan side who are searching for leadership.
With Pakistan taking on Australia in a Test series this summer it will interesting to see if Arthur can help the side finally realise it's full potential.
